Quality of Service

Quality of Service and safety is extremely important to everyone at ILS. We believe that everyone is entitled to a high standard of service that meets their requirements in full and one that is safe and secure.

Our Service Quality Team work hard to continuously find ways to improve our services, whether through reviewing and updating our polices, or through our monitoring and auditing activities from which service’s are adapted and developed.

All of our staff undertake an initial induction programme and then continuous training and development to ensuring we maintain the standards of which we are proud. We provide all staff with a comprehensive induction programme that includes job shadowing as well as specialist training as required for individual packages of care.

Our staff are significant to the quality of care and promotion of independence we provide to our Service Users and their families. We follow a robust and rigorous recruitment process including full Disclosure Scotland checks, ID checks as well as checking references to ensure that we obtain the highest quality of staff to work with our Service Users.

Compliance

ILS is registered with the Care Commission to provide Care at Home and Housing Support Services. Through Nurseplus, our complex care service, we are registered to deliver nursing care.

We are inspected by the Care Commission and inspection reports can be viewed on line. We are fully compliant with our Health & Safety responsibilities and have a full series of policies and procedures that can be requested at any time.

ILS has elected ISO 9000 as our preferred system for quality assurance. We achieved the 9001:2000 standards in 2002 and have maintained the accreditation since, currently ISO 9001:2004 which will be updated to 9001:2008 at the next assessment. We have an external audit twice annually that reviews each process necessary to support service delivery.

ILS also has IIP and Chartermark accreditation. ILS is registered with the Information Commissioners Office as required by the Data Protection Act 1998.
